Does anyone have any good ideas for an idea for a chicken nesting box?

Our three chickens we have just started to lay and we don’t have any nesting boxes. Does anyone have a quick solution until we are able to build a proper one?

  1. WE'LL MISS MR. WIZARD ALWAYS

The plastic milk crates work very well. You can find them at most Dollar General and Wal-Marts pretty cheap in the storage section. They are very washable and work very well. Put a nice layer of straw and some pine shavings in and they are good to go.

    They stack nice too!!!

  2. shoebox, hatbox, or something of that nature…

    A shoe box!

  4. It needs be up about 2 -3 ft. A old dresser drawer with straw will work well. Some are designed with individuel sections so if you make one you might try that. If in a shed when your ready for them to lay eggs place a timer light bulb inside. They respond to light with better laying. But chickens are very adapable, even a old dog house raised up will be used.

  5. bucket, barrel, large paint bucket attached to the wall(with the bottom touching the wall.they will nest on the ground in a quiet area.a basket also
