I am building a chicken coop for 2-3 hens and I would like the eggs to automatically drop into a holding box so I don’t have to go inside. Is it just a PVC tube in the middle of a nest box?

it depends how big the coop is, but you could have a slanted system were the whole cage is slanted very slightly just like 2 degress, or just enough to make the eggs roll, and then have an opening at the bottom edge of the coop, and have them roll into a box, but make sure the box is padded so that they eggs don’t get cracked. (I would use some test eggs) or you could do a similar thing like I said above, but the slant funnels into a pvc tube about 3 inches in diameter, and then it could roll into a box like above
Just build a time machine and go to the future and ask someone for one. They have them there!

Hahahaha. If you’re too lazy to collect 1 or 2 eggs a day in the summer you shouldn’t be keeping chickens. You do know each hen won’t lay more than one egg about every 26 to 29 hours once they’re old enough to start laying on a regular basis? I’ll assume you’re making a joke here. You really gave me a laugh. Thanks =: ]
